Nutreal is a private company registered in Uganda in March 2010. The company was established in a bid to transform research findings into products that address nutrition-related challenges (under-and over-nutrition) that coexist in Uganda and other African nations.

The company is encored in research and has a strong product development arm. It was supported by the Makerere University Food Technology & Incubation Centre (FTBIC) along with other companies. The support was as part of an effort by government and the University to encourage public-private partnerships and contribute to growth of the agro-processing sector while creating markets for farmers’ agricultural produce.
